Most of my large oil and acrylic paintings, as well as some of the smaller ones, are framed in basic wooden frames, simply there to protect the paintings' surfaces. I do not make a charge for these frames but will sometimes despatch paintings in them to lessen the probability of damage occuring in transit.

Framing is a very personal matter. Maybe you want frames to match other frames in your home. This is why I do not frame the paintings. My advice is to live with a painting for a few weeks until you know exactly how you want it framed. Taking the advice of a good picture framer is often useful if you are not sure what you want. Works on canvas do not necessarily need a frame but this leaves the surface of the painting much more likely to accumulate dust.

Watercolour paintings must be framed using glass and a card mount to keep the painting away from the surface of the glass. Sending a water colour ready-framed and glazed can have disastrous results so I prefer to mount the painting in a card mount and send it together with a card backing sheet.

It is possible for me to show you what your chosen painting would look like mounted and framed.

Purchasing a painting is an important matter. I realise this and I am always willing to answer any queries you might have about work you are interested in, so please feel free to email me and I will reply as soon as possible.

Packing up paintings is a long and careful process. Please allow up 28 days for delivery after your payment is cleared. I always notify you of the despatch date and method. If you are living outside the UK then I will be obliged to make a charge to cover excess shipping costs.
